Week 5: Clear

This week we studied various aspects of hardware. One of the topics that was very easily comprehensible was clock speed. Clock speed, which is measured in hertz, is the number of ticks per second. The higher the clock speed in a processor, the more machine cycles can be carried out per second. Higher clock speed is not the only way to increase performance in a system, but generally, the more hertz (or gigahertz), the faster performance.

In choosing a processor for a computer, a businessperson should be aware of what his needs are for this computer. Once the needs have been determined, an appropriate CPU can be selected. To aid in this process, Intel has a website where you can compare their processors and come to an informed decision.
